Hilton has partnered with ClimeCo to develop a portfolio of high-quality carbon offsets for customers hosting meetings and events at Hilton properties around the world.
Hilton recognizes its responsibility to empower customers to make more sustainable choices, and its Meet with Purpose program enables planners to make selections that reduce the footprint of their meetings and events. For those emissions that cannot be mitigated, participating properties offer a carbon offset option that creates carbon neutral meetings.
Using Hilton’s proprietary environmental and social impact management platform, LightStay, Hilton sales professionals calculate the carbon emissions associated with a meeting or event and then purchase carbon offsets from ClimeCo that are third-party verified and registered through the Climate Action Reserve or Verified Carbon Standard.
How Hilton is helping to improve air quality through N2O abatement
Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a super-pollutant greenhouse gas (GHG) that is 273x more potent at trapping heat in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide (CO2) and is often overlooked.
Ascend Performance Materials has a plant in Cantonment, FL, where they voluntarily chose to add a new absorption system that captures and destroys N2O emissions from their process. This is the largest voluntary N2O abatement project in North America and results in improving local air quality due to a significant reduction of emissions that otherwise would have been released into the atmosphere.
Ascend’s safety and environmental performance guides their commitment to zero: zero personal injuries, zero process safety incidents, and zero environmental releases.
This project is third-party verified.

Project Coming Soon: How Hilton is helping reduce emissions in maritime shipping
A shipping credit represents a reduction in carbon emissions achieved through improvements in shipping practices or technologies.
These shipping credits incentivize ship owners to implement sustainable modifications to their vessels, like installing more efficient engines, applying low-friction paint, and making other upgrades that reduce fuel consumption and emissions: all these initiatives lead to permanent emission reductions. The shipping credits are third-party verified and registered with the Climate Action Reserve.
