The Maple Hill Landfill is an active municipal landfill near Macon, Missouri. The Landfill has a permitted design capacity of 14.2 million cubic meters. A landfill gas (LFG) collection and control system was voluntarily installed and currently consists of 40 LFG extraction wells with associated collection piping and a blower/flare station. Blowers are used to extract the LFG and send it to an open flare for destruction. Methane data is measured using a handheld methane analyzer on a weekly basis for the entire duration of the reporting period.
